LaunchAbility, is a nonprofit agency that is the designated Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) service provider for Coppell residents as well as the rest of the northwest quadrant of Dallas County. ECI is part of a federally mandated, statewide initiative providing therapies and other services to babies and toddlers, birth to age three, exhibiting any type of delay or disability at the age when they are most able to adapt. Eligible children have conditions such as autism, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, impaired vision, speech difficulties, fine motor skill delays, and hearing difficulties.
In addition to ECI, LaunchAbility helps children and adults with developmental disabilities achieve their maximum potential and lead fulfilling lives within the community through four other programs: For children, Child Care ChampionsTM (CCC) delivers training to child care providers to improve the overall quality of child care received by children birth through preschool. Case Management for Children and Pregnant Women (CPW), started in January 2011, provides assistance to at risk children under age 21 and pregnant women of all ages, in accessing or managing services related to a medical or mental health issue. For adults, Individualized Supported Employment (ISE) provides one-on-one, customized support that helps adults with cognitive disabilities, such as Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, and traumatic brain injury, obtain and keep good jobs with good pay, consistent with their abilities and interests.
LaunchAbility's Academy is a specialized job skills program to prepare our adult clients for jobs in healthcare. This program improves our clients’ abilities to qualify for higher level positions, earn more money, qualify for benefits, and have greater career opportunities.
