Kid Country 2012 Is Coming Soon
Kid Country 1992 is now closed and will not reopen until the new structure is complete in October.
Only two months until the new Kid Country 2012 will be built by community volunteers during the week of October 2-7 and we need your help! Hundreds of volunteers will be needed during each day of that week to help with construction, tools management, food and child care. Any age group is welcome to help. It's a great opportunity to get a group together from Church, PTO, Homeowner Association, business or other organizations, and come out to help in a community project for Coppell kids. Just go to the web site at www.kidcountry2012.com to sign up and volunteer. View the web cam.
Some additional components were recently added to the Kid Country 2012 design that will make the new playground even more distinctive and fun for the kids. These features include:
• Mosaic Hippo climbing sculpture in the Tot Lot area and 5' tall Mosaic Squirrel climbing sculpture in the older kids area.
• Fourteen-foot high Spider Web climbing structure. This pyramid shape structure with climbing nets on four sides will provide hours of fun for kids.
The components described above, and many others, are available for you to sponsor through donations via the Kid Country 2012 web site. Current donations of $385,000 have been collected. The target amount is $500,000. Kid Country 2012 still needs your help to get over the finish line. Remember that all donations are tax-deductible and any donation over $500 will get your name on the Donor Recognition wall at the front of the new park.
