DWI Task Force
It is the mission of the Coppell Police Department to maintain a safe and peaceful community environment by providing effective and efficient law enforcement services through community partnerships, public education and quality service.
The Coppell Police Department DWI Task Force was deployed over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Task force members made a total of 24 traffic stops and one person was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
The task force coordinator, Traffic Unit Sergeant Kirk Smith, reported the roadways of Coppell were rather quiet for a holiday weekend. No alcohol-related accidents were reported or investigated.
The goal of the task force is to help reduce the number of deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with DWI. The Coppell Police Department is committed to this initiative and will deploy throughout the year in efforts to keep the roadways of Coppell safe for all motorists.
