With today's technology there are a multitude of subscription services available allowing citizens to personalize their individual warning preferences. Some services are available free of charge and some have a recurring fee.
NOAA All-Hazard Radios are used nationwide. They are activated automatically by the National Weather Service when various weather emergencies are threatening an area. The City of Coppell recommends that every household purchase and maintain a radio.
The Connect-CTY system is a unique service allowing city officials the ability to rapidly notify residents and business with time sensitive information. This web based system has the capability to distribute information via telephone, email, and SMS text messaging. No one should automatically assume his or her telephone number is included in the system database. If your home or business has a published number, then it should be in the system. However, you may want to add alternate methods of contact including multiple phone numbers, email addresses and SMS phone number used strictly for texting.

The City of Coppell Outdoor Warning System consists of nine outdoor warning sirens strategically located throughout the city (see map). As the name indicates, the Outdoor Warning System sirens are designed to warn people who are outside. When you hear the sirens, you should immediately seek shelter inside and seek information.
