Group Exercise Class Descriptions
Aquacise—This class offers a quality cardiovascular
workout which, due to being in water,
is easy on the joints and muscles.
Belly/Latin Fusion—Is a fusion of Latin and
International music that creates a dynamic,
exciting, and effective workout.
Body Hoop Fitness—Hoop dancing builds
strength in core muscle areas and provides an
intense cardiovascular workout for increased
energy, flexibility, balance and tone to the
entire body. Hoops are slightly bigger and a
little heavier.
Cardio Circuit Flex—This class offers a cardiovascular
workout through circuit training.
Circuit training incorporates multiple types of
weight bearing and typical non-weight bearing
cardio mediums.
Drills—This intermediate to advanced class
offers an intense workout using equipment
and different workout styles.
Fat Burning 45—This is 45 minutes of
intense workout using equipment and
different workout styles to get rid of those
problem areas.
Kickboxing—This class is taught using bags
and a standard kickboxing formula while adding
cardio workout techniques. Students are
encouraged to bring aerobic boxing gloves.
Muscle Flex—This class works every muscle
group by using weighted barbells and other
varying means of cardiovascular workouts.
Muscle Flex+ class incorporates step aerobics
as well.
Mix-It-Up and Mid-Day Challenge—These
classes are a mix of different types of workouts
using muscle training, cardio, and step
aerobic workouts.
Nia—A world famous fusion fitness program
combining movements of dance, martial arts,
and the healing arts (such as yoga) that no
isolated technique can match. Balancing
technical precision with free-form expression.
Nia brings the body, mind, emotions, and spirit
to optimum health through music, movement
and self-expression.
Pilates—Each session is a full-body workout
emphasizing form and proper body alignment
to increase strength, muscle tone, flexibility,
coordination, and balance with unlimited
opportunity for advancement.
PiYo—This class is a blend of Pilates and
Yoga.
Spin Fit—Spinning burns serious calories
(about 450 in 45 minutes) and offers an
awesome aerobic workout that makes your
heart pump fast. It also tones your quadriceps
(front thigh muscles) and outer thigh muscles
like nobody's business!
Step & Sculpt—This class is a step aerobic
course which is designed for all levels.
Weights will be used as well in order to help
sculpt and firm different muscle groups.
Tai-Chi Wellness—This traditional Chinese
martial art of moving, meditations, and breathing
exercises will calm anyone! Tai Chi movement
is gentle and beautiful, and can give
energy to people of all ages.
Yoga—Encourages the mind and body connection
and helps to relieve stress, improve
breathing and mental focus, and to build
strength, stamina, balance, and flexibility.
Zumba—Hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to follow
moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness
program. Fast and slow rhythms and resistance
training are combined to tone and sculpt
your body while burning fat.
Inclement Weather Policy - During times of possible inclement weather, the Coppell Aquatic and Recreation Center will not hold Group Exercise Classes if the Coppell Independent School District closes schools due to inclement weather.
